Nolan "I love the club and I'd love to stay"
I know he's utterly shit, but I sort of pitied him during that interview.

I don't think he's a bad bloke, and I reckon it bothers him that we never took to him.

I wouldnt say no one took to him. He was good, did a job for us but has had his day. He doesn't fit in to the way we are looking to take the club forward. So it's time for him to move. Simple really.

Re: Nolan "I love the club and I'd love to stay"
He is still club captain, he doesn't have to me match day captain and i would imagine it's up to the manager whether the club captain coming on as sub means he takes the armband. personally i always thought that should never happen, unless it was noble (or whoever else was captain) he was replacing obviously.

Re: Nolan "I love the club and I'd love to stay"
Is he still officially the captain? Last season he used to take the armband off Noble if he came on as a sub but I didn't see him do that yesterday.

A good shop window performance.

Re: Nolan "I love the club and I'd love to stay"
I wouldn't boo him even though he's shit and has been going downhill quickly for the last season and half, which is bad when you're not that good to start with.

However I'm starting to feel a bit sorry for him. He would still be starting every game as captain if BFS was in charge and now he is very much a very small bit player. Even on his wages that is not a nice position to be in but he was smiling his ugly mug off at the end shaking everybody's hand. I've been there in the workplace and its horrible.

Re: Nolan "I love the club and I'd love to stay"
People who boo a player entering the game are NOT West Ham supporters.
If you argue that point, you don't know what the word "supporter" means.
We're at a crucial point in the game, and you want to undermine one of our players, and by extension undermine the team???

Nolan played well, breaking up Arsenal moves, and moving the ball out confidently.
I'm looking forward to seeing more of this during the season.

Re: Nolan "I love the club and I'd love to stay"
Glad to read here that those who booed him coming on were quickly shouted down. West Ham away support are the cream of the cream, on the whole.

Nolan is welcome to play out the season like that. Cameo appearances. Damn shame he couldn't continue captaining the kids in Europe, but que sera etc. Did well today, as did evryone.

Dear Nolan,

The notion that your existence terribly pains a selection of individuals amongst our fan base is simply unfounded. These particular people are not facing real issues in their lives which have lit a fire if anger inside them which they're not yet capable of putting out.

I'd never boo on account that it makes you sound like a mongoloid.

I've told him to fuck off and called him a cunt mind when he's annoyed me, not for no reason though.

More of today and he won't get that from anyone.

I'm not a fan of Nolan but I'd never boo him. something I've never done to one of our own

Re: Nolan "I love the club and I'd love to stay"
To be fair to him he sat in Oxford's position, didn't hang about upfront or do anything too tricksy.

He gets booed because he's looked off the pace, shit but always gets played. He's the on pitch persona of BFS.

Play more like he did today and let Noble captain the side for the full 90 and he'll get a better reception.

It's quite straightforward.

Re: Nolan "I love the club and I'd love to stay"
Got to be better for him to do what he did today, on the bench, last 15 mins, good weekly earner, but more importantly he'll be part of a success story, which I think this season is going to be.

Better squad than last year, good kids getting a chance.

Got a good feeling about this season!

Re: Nolan "I love the club and I'd love to stay"
I thought he did well today & also on Thursday (despite the result)

I think Bilic has quickly cottoned on to Nolans usefulness in coming on to run the clock down with his experience and helping the youngsters in the side

His treatment by some of our fans is disgraceful

I'd hate to see him starting every game no matter what, as he did under BFS, but I still think he is still useful to have around

If he went to another club (& good luck to him if he did) we would almost certainly end up having to pay some of his wages anyway

Hopefully we'll sign Song, I don't mind Nolan coming on as sub in situations like today but don't want him anywhere near the starting eleven due to injuries and suspensions.

I hope he doesn't feature much at all this season but I simply don't get booing him.

He played his part in an ugly but important period for us.
